Our Nottinghamshire-based Shepherds Hut is nestled beside a picturesque fishing lake, providing an intimate escape for couples seeking a romantic getaway. The lodge lays at the end of a short and enchanting walk along a fairy-lit woodland pathway, approximately 25 yards from your parking space.

Small but sweet, our couples shepherds hut welcomes you to a world of luxurious seclusion. The intimate interior boasts a comfortable double bed adorned with soft Egyptian linens, a fully equipped kitchen so that you can cook up your favourite meals, extra blankets (for cosy nights in front of the lake), a bathroom with complimentary eco-friendly toiletries, towels, bath robes, electricity, central heating, and last but not least, your very own private patio. What’s not to love?

1. Sightseeing and stargazing

Our Shepherds Hut is located a five-minute drive away from Newark town centre, and there is so much to see and do. The historical market town is home to a castle, museums, a cinema and a bowling alley, shops, plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants, and Newark Showground.

Then, after a busy day of exploring, you can return home to your cosy shepherds hut and wrap up warm as you sit out and stargaze on your private patio!

2. Having fun with friends

Do your friends own caravans but you don’t? You’ll no longer have to miss out on those fun-filled weekends away, spent sipping wine from a fold-out chair and playing card games.

Our shepherd’s hut for two is located just a short walk away from our touring site, so you can make memories with your friends and return to comfort and central heating at the end of the evening.

3. By the lake

Have you ever tried open-water swimming? Now’s your chance!

The advantage of having a beautiful lake on your doorstep is that you’re close to the water’s edge and can enjoy fishing, paddleboarding, and open-water swimming. We highly recommend making the most of our lakeside shepherds hut and spending time in nature!

4. Movie night

Perfect for winter, we recommend turning up the central heating in our glamping shepherds hut, getting cuddled up and cosy, and watching your favourite rom-com.

Prepare yourself some movie snacks in the kitchenette, and pour yourself a glass of wine (or a delicious hot choccie!). This is a great way to keep out of the cold and spend some quality time with your partner.

5. Discovering new trails

We are close to lots of walking routes and cycle trails, so if you enjoy a hike or a bike ride, you’ve come to the right place! Take in the stunning scenery and explore local wildlife as you enjoy the fresh country air and some exercise.

Then, return to your shepherds hut for some rest and relaxation!
