Wildlife Walks
We are extremely proud to have
won many awards for our commitment to wildlife including 'English
Nature Farming for Wildlife Award' and 'The Wilkinson Award'.
The lake and its surroundings are home to some beautiful birds
including Swans, Canadian Geese, Water Hens and for the birdwatching
enthusiasts the extremely rare Bitton, Long Eared Owl and Tree Sparrow.
Our estate is part of a national scheme which places owl and tree
sparrow boxes and monitors their breeding as featured on the BBC's
Alan Titchmarsh programme - "Nature of Britain in Autumn".
Our
woodland is home to Roe Deer, and
Otters are often seen on our
river banks.
Those taking a walk after dusk may just to
lucky enough
to see one of our Barn or
Long Eared Owls out hunting.
